It highlights vinaya (humility) and satkāra (reverent honoring) of a great sage; in Shaiva understanding, honoring Shiva’s devotees and teachers purifies the ego and becomes a doorway to Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
Reverence to realized sages like Nārada supports Saguna Shiva worship by cultivating devotion and right conduct; such humility stabilizes the mind for pūjā and strengthens bhakti that ultimately leads toward Shiva’s higher (Nirguna) realization.
Practice guru-bhakti and pāda-pranāma (respectful prostration), and approach worship with humility—then perform Shiva pūjā with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” as a disciplined, ego-reducing sādhanā.
