Brahma

Tattva Level: pati

Shiva Form: Umāpati

Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga episode; it belongs to the Skanda/Kumāra origin-cycle where Śiva’s tejas becomes uncontainable and must be transferred through cosmic bearers (Bhū–Agni–Giri–Gaṅgā) until it can manifest as Kumāra.

Significance: Frames the doctrine that Śiva’s tejas is ‘amogha’ (infallible): contact with it is transformative but requires adhikāra (fitness) and divine mediation.

Shakti Form: Pārvatī

Role: creative

FAQs

The verse highlights that Śiva’s śakti is amogha—never futile—so even an outward event in the narrative points to an inner truth: the Lord’s power operates infallibly under His sovereign will, beyond ordinary causality.

It underscores the tangible, world-sustaining efficacy of Saguna Śiva’s presence: in Linga worship devotees honor Śiva as the living source of śakti, whose power manifests reliably for protection, purification, and grace.

A practical takeaway is steady Linga-upāsanā with Panchākṣarī japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) as reminders that Śiva’s śakti is unfailing and should be approached with reverence, restraint, and devotion.
