Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: The bliss-born milk flowing from Śivā signifies nourishing grace that resolves the prior unease; the sage’s ‘greater joy’ marks the special receptivity of a purified paśu to anugraha.
Significance: Models Śiva-Śakti as the ultimate source of ānanda and nourishment; inspires devotees to seek inner ‘milk of bliss’ through devotion and purity, and to honor the guru/sage as a vessel of heightened receptivity.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Annapūrṇā
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
The verse portrays divine nourishment as ānanda (bliss) flowing through Śivā (Pārvatī), indicating that the Lord’s grace reaches beings through Śakti; when one approaches that sacred presence, inner sukha arises, and the realized sage tastes it most intensely.
It supports Saguna devotion: Shiva is approached with form along with Śivā/Śakti, where grace becomes tangible and life-giving—like milk—leading devotees toward the same bliss that the Liṅga signifies in essence (Shiva as Pati, the bestower of liberation).
Cultivate bhakti with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) while contemplating Shiva with Śakti as the source of ananda and protection; offer simple sattvic worship (water, bilva) and meditate on receiving divine grace as inner nourishment.
