It highlights anugraha (divine grace): the Goddess’s compassionate touch symbolizes the removal of duḥkha and the easing of karmic affliction, showing that devotion culminates in divine relief and upliftment.
In Shaiva tradition, worship offered with devotion bears fruit through grace (prasāda). Though the verse mentions the Devī, it aligns with Saguna worship—where the Divine responds through tangible signs of protection and the removal of suffering.
The takeaway is steady pūjā and bhakti seeking prasāda: perform worship with purity and surrender (often supported by japa such as the Pañcākṣarī, and traditional Shaiva disciplines like bhasma and rudrākṣa where applicable) and contemplate divine grace as the remover of sorrow.
