सिंहं नसन्त मध्वो अयासं हरिमरुषं दिवो अस्य पतिम् । शूरो युत्सु प्रथमः पृच्छते गा अस्य चक्षसा परि पात्युक्षा ॥

siṃháṃ nasanta mádhvo ayā́saṃ hárim aruṣáṃ divó asyá pátim | śū́ro yútsu prathamáḥ pṛ́cchate gā́ asyá cákṣasā pári pāty ukṣā́ ||

They approach him like a lion, tireless with the honeyed delight—golden, ruddy, lord of this heaven. A hero, first in the battles, he seeks out the Rays (cows); with his vision the Bull-power ranges all around.
