Survey of Ravana’s Residence and Lanka’s Inner Quarters
अर्चिर्भिश्चापि रत्नानां तेजसा रावणस्य च।।।।विरराजाथ तद्वेश्म रश्मिमानिव रश्मिभिः।
arcirbhiś cāpi ratnānāṁ tejasā rāvaṇasya ca |
virarājātha tadveśma raśmimān iva raśmibhiḥ || 5.6.40 ||
បន្ទាប់មក វិមាននោះបានភ្លឺរលោង ដោយពន្លឺរលឹមរលោងនៃរតនៈទាំងឡាយ និងដោយតេជៈសិរីរបស់រាវណៈផ្ទាល់ ដូចព្រះអាទិត្យដ៏រុងរឿងដែលចែងចាំងដោយកាំរស្មីរបស់ខ្លួន។
The palace of Ravana looked splendid with gems of different hues and with Ravana's presence, it was shining like the radiant Sungod.
The verse prompts ethical discernment: tejas (splendor) can appear sun-like, but dharma depends on right action; the Ramayana repeatedly distinguishes outer radiance from inner righteousness.
As Hanuman looks on, the narrator emphasizes the palace’s brilliance, heightened by Ravana’s presence.
Steadfast clarity: Hanuman does not confuse magnificence with moral legitimacy.
