सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः
हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
श्रुत्वा नगानां चरितं महेन्द्रः पाकशासनः।।।।चिच्छेद भगवान् पक्षान्वज्रेणैषां सहस्रशः।
śrutvā nagānāṃ caritaṃ mahendraḥ pākaśāsanaḥ | ciccheda bhagavān pakṣān vajreṇaiṣāṃ sahasraśaḥ ||
ពេលបានឮអំពីកិច្ចការរបស់ភ្នំទាំងឡាយ មហេន្ទ្រៈ—ព្រះភគវាន អ្នកពិឃាតបាកៈ—បានប្រើវជ្រៈកាត់ស្លាបរបស់ពួកវា ជាច្រើនពាន់ដង បំបែកឲ្យខ្ទេចខ្ទី។
'Mahendra, the killer of ogre Paka, heard the story (of the cruel deeds) of mountains and cut off their wings into a thousand pieces with his thunderbolt.
Protection of cosmic and social order: divine power intervenes to restrain destructive forces when their conduct threatens the world’s stability.
A mythic exemplum is cited: Indra, upon learning of the mountains’ harmful conduct, removes their wings to prevent further harm.
Just governance through restraint: the emphasis is on curbing wrongdoing to safeguard the many.
