The Descent of the Gaṅgā and Bhagiratha’s Fulfilment
सप्तमी चान्वगात्तासां भगीरथमथो नृपम्।भगीरथोऽपि राजर्षिर्दिव्यं स्यन्दनमास्थित:।।।।प्रायादग्रे महातेजा गङ्गा तं चाप्यनुव्रजत्।
saptamī cānvagāt tāsāṃ bhagīratham atho nṛpam | bhagīratho 'pi rājarṣir divyaṃ syandanam āsthitaḥ || prāyād agre mahātejā gaṅgā taṃ cāpy anuvrajat |
ក្នុងចំណោមស្ទ្រីមទាំងនោះ ស្ទ្រីមទី៧ ក៏បានតាមព្រះមហាក្សត្រ ភគីរថ ដែរ។ ព្រះរាជឥសី ភគីរថ អ្នកមានពន្លឺតេជៈដ៏អស្ចារ្យ បានឡើងជិះរថទិព្វ ហើយបើកទៅមុខ—ព្រះម៉ែគង្គា ក៏បានតាមដានក្រោយព្រះអង្គ។
From the sky on to the head of Shankara and thence Ganga resorted to the earth. There it flowed forward with a roaring sound.
Dharma is leadership in service: Bhagīratha does not seek personal gain; he guides a sacred power for the welfare of ancestors and the world.
Gaṅgā’s waters have divided into streams; one stream specifically follows Bhagīratha as he leads it onward.
Bhagīratha’s responsibility and purposeful guidance (netṛtva) aligned with satya and duty.
