Bringing Ṛśyaśṛṅga to Aṅga and His Marriage to Śāntā
अदृष्टरूपास्तास्तेन काम्यरूपा वने स्त्रिय:।हार्दात्तस्य मतिर्जाता व्याख्यातुं पितरं स्वकम्।।।।
adṛṣṭa-rūpās tās tena kāmya-rūpā vane striyaḥ |
hārdāt tasya matir jātā vyākhyātuṃ pitaraṃ svakam ||
គាត់មិនធ្លាប់ឃើញស្ត្រីដែលមានរូបសម្បត្តិន่ាប្រាថ្នាបែបនេះនៅក្នុងព្រៃមុនឡើយ; ហើយដោយចិត្តពោរពេញដោយសេចក្តីស្រឡាញ់ ការសម្រេចចិត្តក៏កើតឡើងក្នុងគាត់ ដើម្បីពន្យល់អំពីឪពុករបស់ខ្លួនដល់ពួកនាង។
He had never seen such charming women in the forest. He developed affection towards them and a desire arose in him to speak about his father.
The verse illustrates how attachment (rāga) can arise suddenly and begin to loosen restraint; dharma requires vigilance so that affection does not override vows and discernment.
Ṛśyaśṛṅga, captivated by the unfamiliar women, feels warmth toward them and becomes willing to share personal details.
Openness and guilelessness—he readily turns to honest self-revelation rather than suspicion.
