Dharma is framed as an attainable but rare integration of virtues. Truth (satya) appears as intellectual honesty: Nārada claims he has carefully discerned (buddhvā) such a person before speaking.
At the opening of the epic, after Vālmīki asks who embodies many ideal qualities, Nārada responds that such qualities are rare but that he knows one person who possesses them and will describe him.
Nārada’s discernment and truthful speech—he speaks after careful ascertainment, modeling responsible testimony in transmitting ethical ideals.
