O venerable one! in consideration of the circumstances I am in, be kind to me and tell me the whereabouts of Rama, lord of the earth.
Dharma is allegiance to rightful order and reverence: Bharata seeks not personal gain but reconciliation, honoring Rāma as the proper center of authority.
Bharata declares his purpose: to meet Rāma, pay homage, and persuade him to return to Ayodhyā.
Bhakti toward elders/eldest (reverent loyalty) and tyāga (renunciation of ambition), seen in his intent to restore Rāma.
