Pulastya (in dialogue with Bhīṣma)
Concept: Puṇya grows by puṇya when sacred acts are performed with method and self-restraint.
Application: Treat spiritual practices as compounding: keep small daily vows (truthfulness, cleanliness, japa) and periodically undertake a pilgrimage or temple-visit with clear rules (diet, speech, charity).
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: tirtha
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Pulastya, seated on a kusa-grass mat in a serene hermitage, instructs Bhīṣma with a raised hand of guidance. In the distance, a pilgrim path winds toward multiple river-fords marked by stone steps, fluttering flags, and small shrines, suggesting that merit ‘multiplies’ as one proceeds with discipline.","primary_figures":["Pulastya","Bhīṣma","pilgrims","river-deities (symbolic)"],"setting":"forest āśrama near a confluence with ghāṭa steps and tīrtha markers","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["saffron ochre","river-silver","leaf green","lotus pink","antique gold"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Pulastya as a radiant sage with gold-leaf halo instructing Bhīṣma in royal attire; behind them a stylized ghāṭa and tīrtha-shrines, ornate arches, rich crimson and emerald textiles, gem-studded ornaments, heavy gold leaf detailing on halos, vessels, and shrine finials.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: delicate Pulastya-Bhīṣma dialogue under a flowering tree, a winding path to a river ford with tiny pilgrims; cool greens and blues, lyrical naturalism, refined faces, distant hills, soft atmospheric perspective.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold black outlines, Pulastya with pronounced eyes and ochre skin tones, Bhīṣma attentive; temple-ghāṭa motifs and river bands in red/yellow/green palette, mural-like flat depth, decorative borders of lotus and conch.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: tīrtha-yātrā as a devotional procession with lotus borders, conch and chakra motifs subtly indicating Viṣṇu’s presence; deep indigo river, gold highlights, peacocks and flowering creepers framing the sage’s instruction scene."}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: त्वमपि = त्वम् + अपि; विधिनानेन = विधिना + अनेन
It frames pilgrimage as effective when done “vidhinā” (according to prescribed practice) and “niyataḥ” (with restraint/regular discipline), emphasizing inner conduct alongside visiting sacred places.
It states a reinforcing principle: meritorious actions generate further merit—ethical and devotional acts build spiritual momentum, increasing one’s store of puṇya.
That spiritual benefit is not merely location-based; it depends on disciplined observance, right method, and consistent virtuous action.
