Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: vira
It preserves sacred lineage (vaṁśa) while highlighting Bhagīratha as a dharmic exemplar whose tapas and resolve enabled the descent of Gaṅgā—symbolizing grace entering the world for purification.
Though not a direct bhakti injunction, it points to devoted perseverance for a higher good: Bhagīratha’s God-centered effort to bring Gaṅgā reflects surrender, service, and faith that divine aid can be invoked for loka-kalyāṇa (welfare of the world).
The verse primarily supports Purāṇic anukramaṇikā-style genealogy (vaṁśānucarita). Its practical takeaway aligns with Itihāsa-Purāṇa as a dharma teaching tool rather than a specific Vedāṅga like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa.
