नातद उवाच । श्रुतं तु गङ्गामाहात्म्यं वाञ्छितं पापनाशनम् । अधुना लक्षणं ब्रूहि भ्रातर्मे दानपात्रघयोः ॥ १ ॥
nātada uvāca | śrutaṃ tu gaṅgāmāhātmyaṃ vāñchitaṃ pāpanāśanam | adhunā lakṣaṇaṃ brūhi bhrātarme dānapātraghayoḥ || 1 ||
នាតទៈបាននិយាយថា៖ «ខ្ញុំបានស្តាប់រួចហើយ នូវព្រះមហិមារបស់ព្រះនាងគង្គា ដែលគេចង់បាន និងបំផ្លាញបាប។ ឥឡូវនេះ សូមបងប្រាប់ខ្ញុំអំពីលក្ខណៈរបស់អ្នកសមស្របជាភាជនទទួលទាន (ទាន)»។
