FAQs

It presents Jyotiṣa as a Vedāṅga—an auxiliary Vedic science—showing that disciplined, rule-based knowledge is part of dharma-guided living, even while the broader section emphasizes mokṣa-oriented conduct.

This verse is primarily technical (Jyotiṣa) rather than devotional; indirectly, it supports bhakti-centered life by advising orderly household planning and dharmic decision-making within the Vedic framework.

Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa: using the strength (bala) and placement in odd/male signs and masculine divisions of lagna, Moon, Sun, and Jupiter to infer a male birth.
