Bharadvaja (questioner) addressing the venerable sage (respondent)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It highlights the classical Purāṇic method of progress: sincere śravaṇa (desire to hear) and respectful questioning to remove saṃśaya (doubt) through a compassionate teacher’s guidance.
While not naming Bhakti directly, it models the Bhakti attitude—humility, trust, and eagerness to hear sacred instruction (śravaṇa), which is a foundational limb of devotion.
The verse emphasizes the discipline of correct learning through dialogue—asking for clarification to resolve doubt—an approach essential for understanding śāstra (including Vedāṅga-based interpretation), though no specific Vedāṅga is named.
