Adhyaya 2 — The Lineage of Garuda and the Birth of the Wise Birds: Kanka and Kandhara
इति श्रीमार्कण्डेयपुराणे वपुशापो नाम प्रथमोऽध्यायः ।
द्वितीयोऽध्यायः ।
मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
अरिष्टनेमिपुत्रोऽभूद् गरुडो नाम पक्षिराट् ।
गरुडस्याभवत् पुत्रः सम्पातिरिति विश्रुतः ॥
iti śrīmārkaṇḍeyapurāṇe vapuśāpo nāma prathamo 'dhyāyaḥ |
dvitīyo 'dhyāyaḥ |
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca |
ariṣṭanemiputro 'bhūd garuḍo nāma pakṣirāṭ |
garuḍasyābhavat putraḥ sampātir iti viśrutaḥ ||
ដូច្នេះបានបញ្ចប់ជំពូកទីមួយនៃ «ស្រីមារកណ្ឌេយបុរាណ» ដែលមានចំណងជើងថា «សាបអំពីរាងកាយ (Vapuśāpa)»។ ជំពូកទីពីរចាប់ផ្តើម។ មារកណ្ឌេយបាននិយាយថា៖ ពី អរិଷ្តនេមិ បានកើត ហ្គរុឌៈ ព្រះរាជានៃបក្សី។ ហ្គរុឌៈមានកូនប្រុសមួយ មានកេរ្តិ៍ឈ្មោះថា សម្បាតិ។
