Adhyāya 90 — Protection of Livelihoods, Brahmanical Subsistence Norms, and Royal Oversight (राष्ट्रवृत्ति-राष्ट्रगुप्ति-उपदेशः)
स चेन्नोपनिवर्तेत वाच्यो ब्राह्मणसंसदि । कस्मिन्निदानीं मर्यादामयं लोक: करिष्यति
sa cennopanivarteta vācyo brāhmaṇasaṃsadi | kasminn idānīṃ maryādām ayaṃ lokaḥ kariṣyati |
ភីष្មបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «បើទោះជាយ៉ាងនេះក្តី ប្រសិនបើព្រះព្រាហ្មណ៍នោះមិនត្រឡប់មកវិញទេ ព្រះមហាក្សត្រគួរទៅនិយាយជាមួយគាត់នៅក្នុងសភាព្រះព្រាហ្មណ៍ថា៖ ‘ឱ ព្រះព្រាហ្មណ៍! ប្រសិនបើលោកចាកចេញពីទីនេះ នោះប្រជាជនទាំងនេះនឹងរស់នៅក្រោមការការពាររបស់អ្នកណា ដើម្បីរក្សាព្រំដែននៃធម៌?’»
