Educational Q&A

Attachment to sense-objects and emotional bondage (sneha-pāśa) produces inner restlessness and delusion; without calming the mind and loosening attachment, one is not qualified for mokṣa.

In Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma and liberation, Bhīṣma advises the listener that certain mental conditions—sense-attachment, agitation, and bondage through clinging affection—make spiritual correction difficult and obstruct the path to liberation.
