जिगीषुस्तान् नरव्याप्रो जिघांसुश्च जयद्रथम् । उनपर विजय पानेकी इच्छा रखकर जयद्रथके वधकी अभिलाषासे गाण्डीव धनुषको खींचते हुए पुरुषसिंह महाबाहु अर्जुनकी बड़ी शोभा हो रही थी
sañjaya uvāca | jigīṣus tān naravyāghro jighāṃsuś ca jayadratham |
សញ្ជ័យបាននិយាយ៖ ដោយបំណងឈ្នះលើសត្រូវទាំងនោះ និងដោយចិត្តក្តៅគគុកចង់សម្លាប់ជ័យទ្រថៈ អర్జុន—សីហបុរស មហាបាហុ—បានភ្លឺរលោងយ៉ាងអស្ចារ្យ ខណៈគាត់ទាញធ្នូ ‘គណ្ឌីវ’ ត្រឡប់ក្រោយ។
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights single-pointed resolve aligned with a warrior’s pledged duty: victory is pursued with discipline, and violence—though tragic—is framed as vow-bound retributive action within the battlefield’s dharma, not as aimless cruelty.
Sanjaya describes Arjuna at a climactic moment: he is determined to defeat the opposing warriors and specifically to kill Jayadratha, and he appears radiant and formidable as he draws his bow, Gāṇḍīva, preparing to strike.
