Adhyāya 90: Babhruvāhana’s Reception and the Commencement of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Aśvamedha
यदा दानरुचि: स्याद् वै तदा धर्मो न सीदति । अनवेक्ष्य सुतस्नेहं कलत्रस्नेहमेव च
yadā dānaruciḥ syād vai tadā dharmo na sīdati | anavekṣya sutasnehaṃ kalatrasnehameva ca ||
ពេលដែលចិត្តចង់បរិច្ចាគកើតឡើង នោះធម៌មិនធ្លាក់ចុះទេ។ គួរបរិច្ចាគដោយមិនឲ្យសេចក្តីស្រឡាញ់ចំពោះកូនៗរារាំង ហើយក៏មិនឲ្យសេចក្តីស្រឡាញ់ចំពោះភរិយា រារាំងដែរ។
श्षशुर उवाच
True giving sustains dharma: when the impulse to charity arises, one should not let familial attachments—love for children or spouse—become an excuse to withhold what ought to be given.
