मरुत्तोपाख्यान-प्रस्तावः — Genealogy to Marutta and the Logistics of Royal Sacrifice
इस प्रकार श्रीमहाभारत आश्वमेधिकपवके अन्तर्गत अश्वमेधपर्वमें संवर्त और मरुत्तका उपाख्यानविषयक तीसरा अध्याय पूरा हुआ
prasandher abhavat putraḥ kṣupa ity abhiviśrutaḥ | kṣupasya putra ikṣvākur mahīpālo 'bhavat prabhuḥ ||
វ្យាស បានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ពីប្រាសន្ធិ មានព្រះរាជបុត្រមួយ ក៏ល្បីដោយនាម ក្សុប។ ពីក្សុប កើតមានឥក្ស្វាគុ ជាមហាក្សត្រដ៏ខ្លាំងក្លា និងជាអធិបតី»។ ដូច្នេះពូជពង្សត្រូវបានរំលឹក ដើម្បីបង្ហាញការបន្តនៃរាជធម៌ (rājadharma) តាមជំនាន់។
