भीष्म उवाच यथा श्राद्धं सम्प्रवृत्तं यस्मिन्‌ काले यदात्मकम्‌ । येन संकल्पितं चैव तन्‍्मे शूणु जनाधिप

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | yathā śrāddhaṃ sampravṛttaṃ yasmin kāle yadātmakam | yena saṅkalpitaṃ caiva tan me śṛṇu janādhipa ||

Translation

ភីෂ្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «ឱ ព្រះអម្ចាស់នៃមនុស្សទាំងឡាយ សូមស្តាប់ខ្ញុំ។ ខ្ញុំនឹងប្រាប់អំពីរបៀបដែលពិធី “ស្រាទ្ធ” (śrāddha) បានចាប់ផ្តើមមានប្រតិបត្តិជាលើកដំបូង—នៅពេលណា និងដោយវិធីណាវាបានកើតមាន, សារសំខាន់របស់វាជាអ្វី, ហើយអ្នកណាជាមនុស្សដំបូងដែលបានគិតគូរ និងបង្កើតវា។»
