Śrāddha-utpatti and Nivāpa–Agni Precedence (श्राद्धोत्पत्तिः—निवापेऽग्निपूर्वकत्वम्)
पूर्वप्रोष्ठपदा: कुर्वन् बहून् विन्दत्यजाविकान् । उत्तरासु प्रकुर्वाणो विन्दते गा: सहस्रश:
pūrvaproṣṭhapadāḥ kurvan bahūn vindaty ajāvikān | uttarāsu prakurvāṇo vindate gāḥ sahasraśaḥ ||
ភីṣ្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «អ្នកណាធ្វើពិធីស្រាទ្ធ នៅពេលនក្ខត្រ ពូರ್ವប្រូṣ្ឋបដា (ពូರ್ವភាទ្របដា) កំពុងគ្រប់គ្រង នឹងទទួលបានចៀម និងពពែជាច្រើន; ហើយអ្នកណាធ្វើនៅក្រោម ឧត្តរាប្រូṣ្ឋបដា (ឧត្តរភាទ្របដា) នឹងទទួលបានគោរាប់ពាន់»។
