मया श्रुतमिदं पूर्व पुराणे भूगुनन्दन । प्रजापते: कथयतो यथान्यायं तु तस्य वै,'भुगुनन्दन! मैंने पहले पुराणमें प्रजापतिकी कही हुई यह न्यायोचित बात सुन रखी है
mayā śrutam idaṃ pūrvaṃ purāṇe bhṛgunandana | prajāpateḥ kathayato yathānyāyaṃ tu tasya vai ||
ភីស្មៈបានមានពាក្យថា៖ ឱ អ្នកជាទីរីករាយនៃវង្សភ្រឹគុ! ខ្ញុំបានស្តាប់រឿងនេះតាំងពីយូរមកហើយក្នុងបុរាណ (Purāṇa) មួយ—ជាប្រធានបទដដែលនេះ ដែលព្រះប្រជាបតិបានពោលដោយសមស្របតាមយុត្តិធម៌ និងរបៀបរបបត្រឹមត្រូវ។
