Adhyāya 57: Tapas–Dāna Phala
On the Fruits of Austerity and Giving
कान्ताभिरपरांस्तत्र परिष्वक्तान् ददर्श ह | न ददर्श च तान् भूयो ददर्श च पुनर्नुप:
kāntābhir aparāṁs tatra pariṣvaktān dadarśa ha | na dadarśa ca tān bhūyo dadarśa ca punar nṛpaḥ |
ភីṣ្មៈបានមានពាក្យថា៖ «នៅទីនោះ ព្រះរាជាបានឃើញអ្នកដទៃទៀតកំពុងត្រូវស្រីជាទីស្រឡាញ់ឱបក្រសោប។ ប៉ុន្តែម្ដងទៀត ទ្រង់មិនអាចឃើញពួកគេបាន; ហើយបន្ទាប់មក ទ្រង់ក៏ឃើញឡើងវិញ។ ដូច្នេះ ក្នុងដែនអស្ចារ្យនៃសុខសប្បាយសេឡេស្ទ្យលនោះ ការយល់ឃើញផ្ទាល់ក៏រអិលរអូស—បង្ហាញថា សេចក្តីរីករាយ និងការចងចិត្តគឺមិនថេរ ហើយអ្វីដែលស្វែងរកតាមការសប្បាយនៃអារម្មណ៍ មិនអាចកាន់កាប់បានដោយប្រាកដ»។
