Vipulopākhyāna—Ruci-rakṣā and Śakra’s Māyā (विपुलोपाख्यानम्—रुचिरक्षणं शक्रमाया च)
अपीडयन् भूत्यवर्गमित्येवमनुशुश्रुम । पीडयन् भृत्यवर्ग हि आत्मानमपकर्षति
apīḍayan bhṛtyavargam ity evam anuśuśruma | pīḍayan bhṛtyavargaṁ hi ātmānam apakarṣati ||
ភីष្ម បានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «យើងបានឮដូច្នេះថា៖ អ្នកធ្វើទានគួរធ្វើទានដោយមិនបង្កទុក្ខលំបាកដល់អ្នកដែលស្ថិតក្រោមការថែទាំរបស់ខ្លួន។ ព្រោះអ្នកណាដែលធ្វើឲ្យគ្រួសារ និងអ្នកពឹងពាក់រងទុក្ខ—ដោយដកហូតអាហារ ឬបង្ខំឲ្យពួកគេទ្រាំទុក្ខ—ដើម្បីធ្វើទាន នោះពិតជាទាញខ្លួនឯងឲ្យធ្លាក់ចុះ»។
