Dāna-Śreṣṭhatā: On the Superiority of Giving
Maitreya–Vyāsa Exemplum
सकृज्जातिगुणोपेत: संगत्या गृहमागत: । अतिथि: पूजितो ब्रह्मंस्तेन मां नाजहात् स्मृति:
sakṛj jātiguṇopetaḥ saṅgatyā gṛham āgataḥ | atithiḥ pūjito brahman tena māṁ nājahāt smṛtiḥ ||
សត្វល្អិតនោះបាននិយាយថា៖ «ម្តងមួយ ភ្ញៀវម្នាក់—ព្រាហ្មណ៍ដែលពោរពេញដោយគុណធម៌សមនឹងជាតិរបស់គាត់—បានមកដល់ផ្ទះខ្ញុំដោយចៃដន្យ។ ខ្ញុំបានគោរពបូជាគាត់ដោយការទទួលភ្ញៀវតាមគួរគាប់។ ឱ ព្រាហ្មណ៍! ដោយសារការប្រព្រឹត្តនោះ អនុស្សាវរីយ៍មិនបានចាកចេញពីខ្ញុំទេ សូម្បីតែឥឡូវនេះ»។
