It frames a tīrtha-context: the Purāṇa links Shiva-bhakti and Linga worship to specific sacred locations and their presiding powerful beings, encouraging attentive remembrance (kīrtana) as a devotional act.
Indirectly, it reflects Shiva-tattva as Pati—the Lord who sanctifies space through his associated śaktis and attendants (mahābalāḥ), making geography itself a field for grace and purification of the paśu (bound soul).
Name-recitation and attentive listening (kīrtana–śravaṇa) are emphasized as concise transmission of sacred knowledge, a supportive practice for Pāśupata-oriented devotion alongside tīrtha-sevā and worship.
