Suta (narrating a hymn/stotra within the Purva-Bhaga tradition)
It frames Shiva (the Linga’s indwelling Pati) as the ultimate terminus of all manifested forms—Time/Death itself—so Linga worship becomes surrender of the pashu’s fear and clinging (pāśa) to the Lord who governs dissolution.
Shiva-tattva is presented as Kāla who consummates creation and as the fierce, protective Rudra who bears the keen weapon—signifying sovereign power to dissolve impurity and sever bondage, not merely physical destruction.
A contemplative stuti-practice: meditating on Shiva as Kāla (Kṛtānta) to cultivate vairāgya and inner detachment—aligned with Pāśupata-style focus on cutting pāśa through remembrance of Pati’s supremacy.
