Kṛṣṇa wanted Arjuna to see the deep devotion of this girl, and thus He urged him to make the initial inquiries.
Phālguna is Arjuna, the Pāṇḍava hero. This verse states that he approached a noble lady and questioned her, having been sent by his friend.
The verse says Arjuna was “sent by his friend” (sakhyā preṣitaḥ), indicating he was acting on a trusted request—approaching her respectfully to obtain information needed for the unfolding events of the narrative.
Act as a responsible representative of a trusted friend: approach others respectfully, recognize dignity and good qualities, and ask questions with clarity and proper intention.
