FAQs

It conveys battlefield organization and command structure (senāpati appointment) and the chariot-based mode of combat—core elements associated with Dhanurveda-style war description rather than ritual procedure.

By embedding an Itihasa-style synopsis of the Mahābhārata within the Purana, it preserves historical-epic narrative alongside other disciplines, showing the Agni Purana’s wide-ranging compendium approach.

It underscores dharma-guided action: Arjuna acts under Kṛṣṇa’s guidance, reflecting the ideal of performing one’s duty with proper counsel and righteous intent amid conflict.
