It gives a precise instruction for kalasha-sthapana: install nine filled ritual pots and arrange them at the nine corners/points of the mandala, using only defect-free vessels.
Beyond mythology, it preserves practical liturgical engineering—how to physically arrange ritual implements (kalaśas) within a mandala layout—showing the text’s manual-like coverage of worship procedure and sacred space design.
Using full and unblemished kalaśas symbolizes completeness and purity; the careful nine-point placement supports ritual order (ṛta) and is held to enhance auspiciousness and the efficacy (siddhi) of the rite.
