इत्य् आदिमहापुराणे आग्नेये स्नानविधिकथनं नाम द्वाविंशोध्यायः अथ त्रयोविंशोध्यायः पूजाविधिकथनं नारद उवाच वक्ष्ये पूजाविधिं विप्रा यत् कृत्वा सर्वमाप्नुयात् प्रक्षालिताङ्घ्रिराचम्य वाग्यतः कृतरक्षकः

ity ādimahāpurāṇe āgneye snānavidhikathanaṃ nāma dvāviṃśodhyāyaḥ atha trayoviṃśodhyāyaḥ pūjāvidhikathanaṃ nārada uvāca vakṣye pūjāvidhiṃ viprā yat kṛtvā sarvamāpnuyāt prakṣālitāṅghrirācamya vāgyataḥ kṛtarakṣakaḥ

ដូច្នេះ នៅក្នុង អគ្និពុរាណ នៃ មហាពុរាណដើម ជំពូកទី២២ មានចំណងជើង «ការពិពណ៌នាវិធីសាស្ត្រងូតទឹក» បានបញ្ចប់។ ឥឡូវ ចាប់ផ្តើម ជំពូកទី២៣ «ការពិពណ៌នាវិធីបូជា»។ នារ​ទៈ បានមានពាក្យថា៖ «ឱ ព្រាហ្មណ៍ទាំងឡាយ ខ្ញុំនឹងប្រាប់វិធីបូជា ដែលបើអនុវត្ត នឹងទទួលបានផលទាំងអស់។ បន្ទាប់ពីលាងជើង ហើយធ្វើអាចមនៈ (ផឹកទឹកបរិសុទ្ធ) រក្សាវាចាឲ្យស្ងប់ និងធ្វើពិធីរ៉ក្សា (ការការពារ) រួច ទើបចូលបូជា»។
