अतोऽर्थमागतॊऽहं ते गृहं प्रति समीक्षितुम् । आचारं देवपूजां च अतिथीनां च तर्पणम् ॥ ८.३४ ॥
ato 'rtham āgato 'haṃ te gṛhaṃ prati samīkṣitum | ācāraṃ devapūjāṃ ca atithīnāṃ ca tarpaṇam || 8.34 ||
それゆえ我は汝の家に来て、汝の作法—神々への礼拝と、客人に対するタर्पナ（tarpaṇa：慰撫の供養）—を見届けようとするのである。
