तस्मिन् सलिलमग्ने तु पुनरन्यं प्रजापतिम् । ब्रह्मा ससर्ज भूतेषु दक्षिणाङ्गुष्ठतो वरम् ॥ वामे चैव तथाङ्गुष्ठे तस्य पत्नीमथासृजत् ॥ २.१७ ॥

tasmin salilamagne tu punar anyaṁ prajāpatiṁ | brahmā sasarja bhūteṣu dakṣiṇāṅguṣṭhato varam | vāme caiva tathā aṅguṣṭhe tasya patnīm athāsṛjat || 2.17 ||

(世界が)その水に沈んでいるとき、梵天は衆生のうちに再び別のプラジャーパティを創出した。右の親指から優れた者を生じ、同様に左の親指からその妻を創った。
