Agastya
Tirtha: Ayodhyā tīrtha-cakra (with Candrahari context)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Vyāsa
Scene: The Moon personified as a radiant deity arrives at Ayodhyā, bows to Viṣṇu, and sets out to visit the local tīrthas; the city’s sacred skyline and riverfront frame the scene.
Even celestial beings seek purification and insight through pilgrimage, honoring Viṣṇu and the tīrthas that reveal dharma.
Ayodhyā as the abode of Viṣṇu and a hub of tīrthas worthy of pilgrimage even for Candra.
Bowing to Ayodhyā’s Viṣṇu and undertaking tīrtha-yātrā (pilgrimage circuit) is presented as the exemplary act.
