Īśvara (Śiva)
Tirtha: Uttaṅkeśvara
Type: temple
Listener: Mahādevī (Pārvatī)
Scene: Śiva (Īśvara) instructs Devī, pointing toward a southern shrine; a modest liṅga-temple labeled Uttaṅkeśvara stands nearby, with a sage-figure Uttaṅka shown in a vignette installing the liṅga with folded hands.
Devotion can sanctify geography: a devotee-established liṅga becomes a lasting tīrtha for others.
Uttaṅkeśvara in Prabhāsa-kṣetra, established by the sage/devotee Uttaṅka.
A pilgrimage instruction is given: ‘one should go’ to Uttaṅkeśvara; ritual details follow in subsequent verses.
