ईचरौवाच । पुराऽसीस्त्वं महादेवि श्यामवर्णा मनस्विनी । नामार्थं च मया प्रोक्ता कालीति रहसि स्थिता
īcarauvāca | purā'sīstvaṃ mahādevi śyāmavarṇā manasvinī | nāmārthaṃ ca mayā proktā kālīti rahasi sthitā
イーシュヴァラは言った。「昔、偉大なる女神よ、汝は黒き色を帯び、意志堅固であった。汝が隠棲していた折、我は汝の名の義を密かに告げた――『カーリー』と。」
