ईश्वर उवाच । उक्तो यदासौ विबुधैः समस्तैरापः पुरा त्वं भुवि भक्षयस्व । यतोऽमराणां प्रथमं हि जाता आपोऽग्रजाः सर्वसुरासुरेभ्यः
īśvara uvāca | ukto yadāsau vibudhaiḥ samastairāpaḥ purā tvaṃ bhuvi bhakṣayasva | yato'marāṇāṃ prathamaṃ hi jātā āpo'grajāḥ sarvasurāsurebhyaḥ
イーシュヴァラは語った。「彼が諸神すべてに告げられたとき、彼らは古くこう言った。『地上において、水（アーパス）を飲み尽くせ』と。水は不死なる者たちの中で最初に生まれ、あらゆる神々とアスラに先立つ長兄だからである。」
