उदङ्मुखस्तु देवानां पितॄणां दक्षिणामुखः । अग्निना भस्मना वापि यवेनाप्युदकेन वा । द्वारसंक्रमणेनापि पंक्तिदोषो न विद्यते
udaṅmukhastu devānāṃ pitṝṇāṃ dakṣiṇāmukhaḥ | agninā bhasmanā vāpi yavenāpyudakena vā | dvārasaṃkramaṇenāpi paṃktidoṣo na vidyate
デーヴァへの作法では北面し、ピトリ（祖霊）への作法では南面する。さらに、火・灰・大麦・水によって、あるいはただ戸口をまたぐだけの浄めによっても、「パンкти・ドーシャ」（食事の列に及ぶ不浄の過失）は生じない。
