この規定では、カाषाय(黄褐・袈裟色)に染めた衣をまとう者は「裸」と見なされ、半布のみの者もまた「裸」と記される。だが、縁が裂けていない衣、また土(浄めの粘土)で洗い清めた衣は、許容されるとされる。
