तस्य तुष्टो महादेवो वयसोऽन्ते वरं ददौ । परितुष्टोऽस्मि ते मंके ब्रूहि किं करवाणि ते
tasya tuṣṭo mahādevo vayaso'nte varaṃ dadau | parituṣṭo'smi te maṃke brūhi kiṃ karavāṇi te
彼に満足したマハーデーヴァは、寿命の尽きる時に恩寵の願いを授けた。「マンケよ、われは汝に全く満足した。言え——汝のために何をしてやろうか」。
Mahādeva (Śiva)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Maṃki
Scene: Mahādeva appears before the aged Maṃki—radiant, ash-smeared, crescent-mooned, with trident—speaking gently, offering a boon; the ascetic sits humbled, hands folded, in the sacred landscape of Prabhāsa.
Divine grace may come late, but steadfast devotion culminates in Śiva’s direct approval and boon-giving.
Prabhāsa-kṣetra, the setting where intense tapas ripens into Śiva’s darśana and boon.
The fruit of tapas and worship is shown as vara-dāna (bestowal of a boon) by Śiva; no additional rite is specified in this verse.
