sūryasārathinā tatra liṃgaṃ devipratiṣṭhitam | kalau pāpaharaṃnāma darśanātpāpanāśanam
デーヴィよ、そこには太陽神スーリヤの御者によってリンガが स्थापितされた。カリ・ユガにおいてそれは「パーパハラ(罪を除く者)」と呼ばれ、ただダルシャナするだけで罪は滅する。
Īśvara (Śiva) (continued narration)
Tirtha: Pāpahara-liṅga
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Pārvatī)
Scene: A small shrine near the main complex: the Pāpahara liṅga, with Aruṇa’s presence implied; pilgrims bow and feel unburdened, as if sins fall away at first sight.
In Kali-yuga, even simple acts like darśana at a sanctified shrine can grant powerful purification when supported by the tīrtha’s māhātmya.
The Pāpahara liṅga in Prabhāsa-kṣetra, established by the Sun’s charioteer (Aruṇa).
Darśana (reverent viewing) of the Pāpahara liṅga is stated to destroy sins; no additional rite is required in this verse.
