Transliteration

bāṃdhaveṣu ciraṃ vāso nārīṇāṃ na yaśaskaraḥ | manorathā bāṃdhavānāṃ nāryā bhartṛgṛhe sthitiḥ

Translation

女が生家の縁者のもとに久しく留まることは、誉れをもたらすとはされない。親族の切なる願いは、彼女が夫の家に安住し、そこに確立することである。
