तिलदानं करोत्येवं लोहदानं च यस्तव । करोति दिवसे शक्त्या यावद्वर्षं त्वया हि सः
tiladānaṃ karotyevaṃ lohadānaṃ ca yastava | karoti divase śaktyā yāvadvarṣaṃ tvayā hi saḥ
「また同様に、汝の日に、力に応じて胡麻の布施をなし、さらに鉄を施し、かくして一年満ちるまで続ける者は、まことに汝により守護されるべきである。」
Rājā Daśaratha (continuing address to Śanaiścara)
Type: kshetra
Scene: The king expands the boon: those who donate sesame and iron on the deity’s day, as able, sustained for a year, should be protected; imagery includes offerings being weighed and given to recipients.
Charity performed with sincerity and within one’s means is upheld as dharma that transforms karmic hardship into protection.
The verse is embedded in a tīrtha-māhātmya chapter but here the focus is on dāna as a Śani-śānti practice, not a named site.
Tiladāna (sesame charity) and lohadāna (iron charity) on Śani’s day, sustained for a year according to one’s capacity.
