atrāṃtare narā ye ca nivasaṃti dvijottamāḥ | kṛṣikarmodyatāścāpi yāṃti te paramāṃ gatim | kiṃ punarniyatātmānaḥ śāṃtā dāṃtā jiteṃdriyāḥ
おお、二度生まれの中の最勝者たちよ。この地に住む人々は、たとえ農の務めに励むだけであっても、最高の境地に至る。ましてや、自己を律し、寂静にして、調御され、諸根を制した者たちはいかばかりであろう。
Sūta
Type: kshetra
Listener: Dvija-uttamāḥ
Scene: Within the sacred region: farmers ploughing fields near a shrine and river; above them a subtle divine radiance indicating ‘paramā gati’. In the foreground, a self-controlled yogin sits in meditation, calm and luminous, showing the ‘how much more’ principle.
A sanctified kṣetra uplifts all who live within it; disciplined virtue amplifies that grace even further.
The delineated kṣetra of Adhyāya 26, praised as so potent that even ordinary residents attain the highest destination.
No formal rite; the verse emphasizes the spiritual potency of residence and the value of self-restraint (niyama, dama, indriya-jaya).
