ब्रह्मोवाच । परितुष्टोऽस्मि ते वत्स वरं वरय सुव्रत । तुष्टोऽहं ते प्रदास्यामि यद्यपि स्यात्सुदुर्लभम् । अन्धक उवाच । यदि यच्छसि मे ब्रह्मन्वरं मनसि वांछितम् । जरामरणनाशाय दीयतां सुरसत्तम
brahmovāca | parituṣṭo'smi te vatsa varaṃ varaya suvrata | tuṣṭo'haṃ te pradāsyāmi yadyapi syātsudurlabham | andhaka uvāca | yadi yacchasi me brahmanvaraṃ manasi vāṃchitam | jarāmaraṇanāśāya dīyatāṃ surasattama
梵天は言った。「わが子よ、汝に大いに満足した。誓戒に堅き者よ、望む恩寵を選べ。われは満ち足りたゆえ、たとえ得難きものであっても汝に授けよう。」アンダカは言った。「もし授けてくださるなら、梵天よ、我が心の願う恩寵を。神々の中の最勝者よ、老いと死を滅するための恩寵をお与えください。」
