Transliteration

tasyaikā cābhavatpatnī prāṇebhyo'pi garīyasī | pativratā patiprāṇā patipriyahite ratā

Translation

彼にはただ一人の妻があり、それは命にも勝って愛しい存在であった。彼女はパティヴラターとして貞節の誓いを守り、夫を生命そのものとし、常に夫の喜びと益となることに心を尽くしていた。
