sūta uvāca | śvetadvīpaḥ samānīto viṣṇunā prabhaviṣṇunā | tatkṣetre kalibhītena yathā śauklyaṃ na saṃtyajet
Sūta
Tirtha: Śuklatīrtha (Śvetadvīpa-established zone)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Ṛṣis
Scene: Viṣṇu, radiant and all-powerful, mystically transporting or manifesting Śvetadvīpa into a terrestrial sacred region; the landscape turns luminous white; Kali’s shadow recedes at the boundary.
Divine power safeguards sacred purity against the corrupting influence of Kali-yuga.
Śuklatīrtha is explained through the motif of Śvetadvīpa’s preserved ‘whiteness’ (śauklya).
None directly; it provides the mythic foundation for the tīrtha’s sanctity.
